Finding Beauty Friday

Some days are better than others, some days are very good and some days are just plain superb. Today was one of those days! We met our good friend and talented artist, Margaret Boozer (please check out her incredible work at www.margaretboozer.com) at a place we all just call 'The Pit', a 180 acre hole in the ground where I work. My family has been mining sand, gravel and clay there since the early seventies and we are lucky enough to have a host of extraordinary ceramic artists who like to dig their own clay. We met Margaret there today as she prepares for her next big installation at American University in June. We had an amazing time exploring the cliffs and ravines, mud puddles and sand piles and soaking up the sunshine and fresh air. We were able to find beauty in the tinest places imaginable, and the least expected.

I was going to start a weekly Friday post called 'Recession Friday!' Offering fun tips on saving and making do with less - embracing the Recession instead of fearing it ... But I think I officially need to make it 'Find Beauty Friday!' and issue a challenge to one and all to find beauty in the little things, or where you wouldn't expect it. More pictures of our day in dirt when I get home.
